The Rutshellir Caves are located near the Eyjafjallajökull glacier in Iceland. These unique caves were created by lava flows and offer visitors a chance to explore the inside of a volcanic rock formation.
The official website for the Rutshellir Caves is not available at this time. However, visitors can contact local tour operators for information on visiting the caves.
The caves are open from May to September and guided tours are available. Prices vary depending on the tour operator and the length of the tour.
While in the area, visitors can also explore the nearby Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Both waterfalls are easily accessible by car and have designated parking areas.
Seljalandsfoss is open year-round and visitors can walk behind the waterfall for a unique perspective. Skógafoss is also open year-round and offers a hiking trail to the top of the waterfall for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Both waterfalls are free to visit and have no set hours of operation.
